What happens to your details
The only information this site collects is what you type into the contact form, and it goes straight to a personal inbox. There is no database, no mailing list and no advertising tracking on this website.
Please read this before you publish. These pages were drafted to be accurate about how this particular website behaves, in plain language rather than legal language. They are not legal advice and they have not been checked by an attorney. If anything below is not true of how you actually work, change it, and if you would rather be certain, have someone qualified read it.
Who is responsible for your information
Samantic Lab, a design studio working remotely. You can reach the studio at letstalk@samanticlab.com or on 076 062 7695.
What is collected
Only what you choose to type into the contact form: your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. If you arrive from a shop room, the name of that room is added to the message so the studio knows what you are asking about. Nothing else is requested and nothing is collected about you in the background.
How it reaches the studio
The form does not send anything by itself. Pressing Send opens your own email program with the message already written, and you send it. The WhatsApp button does the same thing through WhatsApp. That means your details travel through your own email or WhatsApp account, not through this website, and nothing is stored on this website at any point.
What it is used for
Answering you, quoting for the work, and doing the work if you go ahead. Your details are not sold, rented or shared for marketing, and you will not be added to any mailing list, because there is not one.
How long it is kept
Enquiry emails sit in the studio's inbox. Where a project goes ahead, the correspondence is kept for as long as is sensible for tax and record-keeping, and then deleted. If you would like your emails deleted sooner, ask and they will be.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own, and there is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no visitor tracking on it. If that changes, this page changes with it and you will be asked before anything tracking is switched on.
Other companies involved
One. Netlify hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs, which include visitor IP addresses. The typefaces and photographs are served from this site's own hosting, so your browser does not contact Google or Unsplash to draw the page. The demo website shown inside the screen on Home and Work is a copy kept on this site for the same reason.
Your rights under POPIA
South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to ask what information is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to it being used. Write to letstalk@samanticlab.com and it will be handled. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18.
